This device uses “pillow conduction” technology - which send sound more clearly through pillows than speakers.

We have made the sound even clearer by adding an equaliser, putting Sleepbar ahead of the competition in terms of sound quality.

Despite these features, we do not recommend the Sleepbar if you use a particularly heavy, dense or specialist pillow; such as latex, or thick memory foam.

Bluetooth is everywhere these days. It's the same technology you'll find in your earphones, computer keyboard and your cars. Infact - there's a good reason for this.. its incredibly safe.

And as a technology company, its pretty sad that we have to add things like this to our FAQ.

But based on all current research, using Bluetooth devices poses no health risks. In fact, Bluetooth devices even emit less EMF than cell phones, which most people would agree are 100% safe.

Can Sleepbar® overheat?

We hear a lot of people asking this question - but are yet to find a single customer reporting that their device is even a little bit warm!

Sleepbar® doesn't contain any components that can "heat up" during use - and it consumes very little power during use. It's also manufactured to stringent European safety standards - so you know it will be high quality and free of faults.

It really works under my pillow!

Very disappointing experience.

I bought a Dusker as a Christmas (2024) present for my wife, and it was delivered early, in September. She opened it on Christmas Day. My wife listens to podcasts through the night, and she never listens to music at night. Up to now she has been using earphones. She started using the Dusker after returning from a New Year trip. Even using the App, speech was too muffled to understand properly so she couldn’t hear what they were saying, this was also a problem with music particularly with lyrics which were difficult to hear clearly. I could also hear relatively loudly, what she was playing while next to her in bed. She said she had to lie with her ear pressed to the pillow to hear anything, so if she turned over the sound was lost briefly. She’s tried hard to persist with it but it’s not really worked for her as advertised. I requested a refund because it’s not really any use to her, and she’s had to go back to using earphones. My daughter also gave it ago and she experienced the same problems. The company told me it’s well beyond the 30 day refund limit so they won’t give me a refund. I explained that even though it was delivered in September, she couldn’t open it till Christmas because it was a present. They still won’t refund the money, so we have effectively lost £75. The Dusker is effectively useless now for my wife, unless she listens to background type music with no words which she never does, even then I’d still be able to hear what she was playing at night. So if you buy it bear in mind it’s significant limitations, and if it’s a present bought more than a couple of weeks before a birthday or Christmas, then unfortunately you would be well advised to test it yourself before giving it. We are very disappointed with it despite my high hopes that she’d enjoy it and be able to dispense with earphones at night. We are also very disappointed with customer service for not being at all flexible regarding the refund date, given the circumstances in this case. Needless to say we wouldn’t recommend the Dusker and we wouldn’t recommend this company after our experience. There is no facility to put 0/5 stars on the review so I’ve had to score 1/5. Finally if you buy it as a present, test it yourself first! Dr M. A.

Fantastic sleep aid

Bought as a gift and it is really enjoyable and easy to use. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to listen to books or music in bed.

Good but read the FAQs

It is a great product and had high hopes for it. But they don't make it stand out that the quality of sound is limited with latex pillows when you buy it.....other than in the FAQs. Yes once you buy it and its delivered they send out tips on making sound better with latex pillows.....but it remains muffled regardless. So the three of them I purchased won't get used much. Shame as it is a great product.

Great Product

This was bought as a gift and the recipient was thrilled with it

Wanted to like this, doesn’t work with my pillow

I purchased the sleep bar to listen to sleep stories while falling asleep, or to occasionally watch shows or movies in bed, without the sound bothering my spouse. I’m a side-sleeper, so this seemed like an ideal solution, and I think it might be for many people!

Unfortunately, the sound bar requires precise placement, and the sound conduction is highly dependent on your pillow thickness and material. Dusker thought of this, allowing an easy way to calibrate the sound to your specific sleep environment using their app. I guess my pillow is too dense (probably the memory foam core) and no matter what I do, I can’t achieve good sound quality. The sound is muffled, and I can’t understand voices like the ones narrating my sleep stories, or dialog in the shows I watch. Music is slightly better, but still not great. I use a custom made hybrid pillow, and it’s the only one I’ve found that works well for me, so I’m not likely to switch to a different pillow. However, I will try the sleep bar while traveling and sleeping on cheaper pillows, so it may still prove useful.

Overall, the Sleep Bar was nicely packaged, and very easy to set up and use through the Dusker App. I think it is a great product for side sleepers, and it has a lot of potential! It may not work well with all pillows, and you won’t know if it works for you until you try it.
